Man robbed and pushed to the ground by trio with Liverpudlian accents

A man has been taken to hospital after he was robbed and pushed to the ground by a group of men last night.

The trio threatened their 54-year-old victim and stole his personal possessions in the sickening attack at around 7.50pm on Cruachan Place in Kilmarnock.

Police and an ambulance crew raced to the scene and the man was rushed to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment but has since been released.

The suspects are described as white, in their 30s and had Liverpudlian accents. The first man had a ginger beard and was wearing glasses, jeans and a jacket. The other two men were wearing dark tracksuits with one being described as having short black hair and stubble.

Detective Sergeant Jamie Carruth, Police Scotland, said: “Our investigation is continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding this robbery and to trace the three men responsible.

“Officers are carrying out enquiries in the area and gathering CCTV images. Local additional police patrols will be carried out.

“I would urge any witnesses to this robbery or anyone with personal footage or information that may assist our enquiry to contact us via 101 quoting reference number 3316 of January 26, 2023. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111."
