Man reveals perfect poached egg hack in viral TikTok

You can’t make an omelette without breaking a few eggs, and you can’t learn to poach one without inevitably making a mess in a pot at least a few times.

If your poaching game needs a little fine-tuning, one TikToker has shared a foolproof way of ensuring your poached eggs are perfect every single time.

Instead of faffing around with vinegar, creating a vortex of boiling water, or buying silicone poached egg cups, the culinary whizzes behind @caughtsnackin suggest you simply just crack the egg into a metal ladle and lower the bottom of the spoon into the pot.

The caption promises: “This poached egg hack will change your brunch game!”

Since uploading the hack the video has received over 3 million views, 74,000 likes and over 300 comments.

One comment with over 600 likes reads: “That is the best hack I have ever seen in my entire life.”

Another wrote: “Why have I never thought to poach an egg like that?! That is genius.”

Popular TikToker David Templer replied: “I’m going to have to try that…”

However some disagreed that the egg is poached, with some saying the egg being cooked in the spoon means it’s coddled.

Either way, the end result looked absolutely delicious.

The TikToker served up the egg on guacamole toast before seasoning it. He then cut into the egg to show the yolk is still runny.

Another egg-related hack the account shared recently was a super simple mouth-watering red pesto and egg recipe, which received almost 10 million views.

And, if boiled eggs are more to your liking, check out this hack for peeling off the shell that previously went viral.

Yum!
