A man was rescued from a car and rushed to hospital after a crash on Monday evening (December 19). Two vehicles were involved in the collision on Bury Road, in Bolton, at around 6pm.
Emergency services raced to the scene, with officers from Greater Manchester Police cordoning off the road whilst fire crews used specialist equipment to help pull the man from the car wreckage.
The male was taken to hospital by paramedics who were also present, before the scene was later cleared and the road reopened. The nature of his condition has not yet been confirmed, but the North West Ambulance Service have been approached.

Pictures from the scene show officers standing beside the cordon as fire crews worked for around an hour to cut the man free from the car involved. Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for more information.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At 6pm this evening (Monday 19th December) firefighters were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving two cars at the junction of Crompton Way and Bury Road, Bolton.
“Two fire engines from Bolton fire station, alongside the Technical Response Unit from Ashton, arrived quickly at the scene. Crews used specialist equipment to help extricate a male casualty from one car, who was then conveyed to hospital via the care of our colleagues at North West Ambulance Service, before making the scene safe. GMFRS were in attendance for just over one hour.”
