A man in his 60s has been hospitalised after a paragliding accident off Western Australia's southern coast.
The man was brought into Emu Point Marina in Albany just after 2pm on Wednesday.
Friends of the man told the ABC he was part of a group of four men paragliding off Sharp Point.
After one of the group members ran into trouble, the injured man attempted to assist him, but had further difficulties.
Witnesses said the man managed to climb onto nearby rocks, where he was retrieved by Albany Marine Rescue.
He appeared to be in good spirits when he was unloaded from the rescue boat and taken to a waiting ambulance.
His injuries and the full nature of the incident are not yet clear, but St John Ambulance says the man is set to be transported to hospital for further treatment.
The area is a popular destination for paragliding and hang-gliding due to its high altitude and consistent wind.
