Ryan Wesley Routh, a man suspected of planning an attack on former President Donald Trump while he played golf, has come under scrutiny for his online activities expressing strong support for Ukraine. In numerous posts on social media platform X in 2022, Routh voiced his unwavering backing for Ukraine, stating his willingness to sacrifice his life in the fight and calling for the destruction of the Kremlin.
In a post made in March 2022, Routh declared, 'I AM WILLING TO FLY TO KRAKOW AND GO TO THE BORDER OF UKRAINE TO VOLUNTEER AND FIGHT AND DIE…Can I be the example We must win.' These statements raised concerns about his intentions and potential involvement in conflicts.
Furthermore, Routh utilized his personal Facebook account in the previous year to recruit foreign individuals to participate in the war. Beginning in October 2023, he made multiple posts attempting to enlist Afghan conscripts, portraying himself as an unofficial intermediary for the Ukrainian government.
One of his posts, published in English and Pashto, read, 'Afghan Soldiers- Ukraine is somewhat interested in 3000 soldiers, so I need every soldier that has a passport to send me a copy of their passport to send to Ukraine.' These actions by Routh have drawn attention and raised questions about his motives and potential connections to international conflicts.
