Man on the run from prison wanted by police

A man who was serving time in prison is wanted by police.

Paul Wilson is on the run from HMP Kirkham after being granted a temporary licence. The 49-year-old failed to return to jail and is now wanted on recall.

Officers say he is described as white, 6ft, of medium build with green eyes. Originally, Wilson was from Huyton but he has links to Blackpool and Brighton.

A spokesperson for Merseyside police said: "We are appealing for the public’s help to trace 49-year-old Paul Wilson who is wanted on recall to prison. Wilson has failed to return to HMP Kirkham after being granted a temporary licence from prison.

"He is described as white, 6ft tall, of medium build with green eyes. Enquiries are ongoing to locate Wilson and return him to prison.

"Wilson is originally from the Huyton area but has links to Blackpool and Brighton. Officers are appealing to anyone who may know of his whereabouts to contact Merseyside Police on 0151 777 3837 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111."
