A man on roof was arrested after a nine hour standoff with police.
Police were called to Wheatfield Close in Netherley at around 8.30am today to reports of a concern for safety of a man on a roof. Gerrards Lane was closed in both directions due to the incident between Church Road and Winster Drive.
There was also a cordon in the area and the fire service and North West Ambulance Service were also at the scene. Images taken by the ECHO showed a drone being used to monitor the scene.

A 35-year-old man was arrested having been wanted for a recall to prison and on suspicion of attempted assault occasioning grievous bodily harm. A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said two knives were recovered from the scene.
The surrounding roads in the area have now been reopened.
