Man on bike fighting for his life after being hit by car

A cyclist is fighting for his life after being hit by a car.

Officers were called to reports of a crash at around 4.15pm on Friday, April 14 on on Priestley Street in Warrington. When police arrived at the scene they found the man, 46, was involved in a crash with a white Fiat Qubo near the pedestrian crossing on Priestley Street.

The cyclist was taken to Walton Centre Hospital for treatment after suffering suspected life threatening, injuries. The driver of the car, a 50-year-old woman, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

She has since been released under investigation. Officers are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has any dashcam or CCTV footage from around the time of the incident to come forward.
