Man missing from the Borders for over a week as police launch frantic search

A man who vanished from his home in the Borders over a week ago has sparked a frantic police search, with officers keen to trace him 'as soon as possible'.

Jonathan Buik disappeared from his address in the village of Newtown St Boswells on Monday, August 8. The 41-year-old last made contact with someone a week later on Monday, August 15, but has not been seen or heard from since.

Jonathan is described as white, around 5ft 10ins in height and of large build with brown hair. He is believed to be driving a white Vauxhall Astra with the registration number NL16 GFK.

In the midst of his disappearance, worries are mounting for Jonathan's welfare, and police are appealing for the public's help as part of their ongoing efforts to find him.

Anyone with any insight as to where Jonathan might be is being urged to get in touch. A Police Scotland spokesperson added: "Officers are keen to trace him as soon as possible to ensure that he is safe and well.

"Anyone with information on Jonathan’s whereabouts is asked to contact 101 quoting incident number 1969 of 17 August."
