Man met his ex-boyfriend for first time in person while on TV show

An Ex on the Beach UK star met his ex for the first time in person on the show.

George, from Runcorn, is starring in the latest series of Ex on the Beach, which airs tonight (May 9). He was among many who faced their exes throughout the series.

The 21-year-old faced ex Alessandro, who he’d “never actually met in person”. While George lives just outside of Liverpool, Alessandro splits his time between Ireland and Italy, meaning the two never got to spend time together.

When George realised it was Alessandro who was joining the villa in Gran Canaria, he said he was “surprised, but then I wasn't”. He said: “Well, the first thing was I was surprised, but then I wasn't. I was like, ‘well, of course. Out of all my exes, of course’.

“Then I was like, ‘oh, he looks fit.’ Then, soon after we kissed I was waiting for the tears, I was like, ‘Any second now.’ This whole thing is going to happen and be dramatic. Alessandro, me and him are just dramatic people, so it was like I'm just waiting for something to kick off.”

George put his split with Alessandro back in 2020 down to the long distance. He added: “It was just the distance thing, really. He lives between Ireland and Italy and I'm from just outside of Liverpool, it is a long distance relationship. Maybe at the time I thought, ‘this isn't what I'm looking for.’

“I don't really know, because it was so long ago, it was in 2020. Maybe at the time I was like, ‘no, it's not for me or I want to focus on this, or when everything goes back to normal, I want to focus on that.’

“There wasn't anything specific between me or him. It's a lot to commit to when I can't just actually see him and have a conversation.”

However, despite George feeling some attraction towards Alessandro in the villa, things didn’t work out between the two. George said: “You can't be in a full-blown relationship with someone you've only just met.

“Obviously, we had spoken for a long time, but to actually meet in person, it's very different than online. It was a very short time, I don't think it was a fair amount of time.

“I don't think it ended negatively with either of us, I mean, he was very upset and I was upset because I just felt like the worst person on the planet, but neither of us thought it was in a bad way, negative way, whatsoever.

“He's coming over tomorrow actually to stay at my house for the week, he knows all my family and stuff, so it didn't end negatively at all, it was just too soon.”

Ex on the Beach UK airs tonight, May 9, at 10pm on MTV and Paramount Plus.
