A young Aussie has made more than €63,000 in six weeks after creating a new type of phone charger that he devised when walking home from the pub one night.
Bailey Page, from Queensland, invented the wireless charger after his phone went dead while he was trying to call a cab through the app Uber, forcing him to have to take a long walk home, The Daily Star reported.
The following day, he perused the internet to see if he could find a cable free phone charger, to no avail.
So he decided to put his savings into making the Zip Zap charger during his final year of college.
The device clips onto your mobile and will recharge it fully within two hours.
Bailey sold out his fleet of 200 chargers within two weeks in 2021, and then sold another 1500 chargers in his native country the following month.
Within six weeks he bagged more than €63,000 and hit his goal of selling 2000 chargers in a year.
Bailey has so far sold 6,500 of his new chargers.
Bailey told a local news outlet: "My third year essentially, I just had to focus on getting uni complete while I did my studies."
"It was just a lot of late nights and weekend work to really cover up on what I couldn't do through the week when I was at uni. I thought to myself, you know what, if I failed, I at least had a go."
Bailey said the important thing was putting a plan on paper.
"It's always good to get outside eyes looking in and giving you feedback. You can never fail with starting and the biggest hurdle is actually just starting," he said.
