A 28-year-old man linked to an Amber Alert last week has been arrested and charged with domestic violence and drug offences.
Police issued the alert after four children went missing from a home in the Mackay region last Thursday and they were found safe and well about 24 hours later.
Joshua Carter was arrested at a property on Tuesday and has been charged with domestic violence offences and one count each of possessing dangerous drugs and possessing utensils.
Inspector Regan Draheim said where the children went and how they came to be returned was being investigated.
He said discovering what transpired during their absence will be key to the police investigation.
Mr Carter was denied bail to appear in the Mackay Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
