Man left with 'major trauma injuries' after smash between McLaren, Mercedes and van on M56

A man was rushed to hospital with 'major trauma-related injuries' after a three-car crash on the M56.

The smash - which involved a Mercedes A Class, a blue McLaren and a white van - happened near junction nine for the Lymm Interchange just before 7am this morning (Monday), CheshireLive reports. Two lanes were shut off on the eastbound carriageway for several hours after the incident.

Cheshire Police said the white Mercedes A Class collided with a barrier. The white van and blue McLaren then collided with the car.
