Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man was violently assaulted while he tried to board a Tube in central London.
The British Transport Police said the man was attacked after walking down the stairs in Piccadilly Circus underground station toward the Piccadilly line platforms around 10.15pm on Wednesday November 29.
During the walk, he was pushed by an unknown man who continued to act aggressively before hitting him in the back of the head.
As the victim attempted to get on the train, the man punched him in the face, causing his nose to bleed profusely.
The suspect is described as mixed race and around 6ft tall, aged in his early 20s or late teens.
"He was wearing a blue Crombie-type coat with a zip puffa on the inside," British Transport Police said.
"Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the assault or has any information to assist their enquiries.
"Anyone who witnessed what happened or has any information is asked to contact the British Transport Police by texting 61016, or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 73 of 30/11/23."
