A man has died following a crash in south Manchester.
Police were called to the fatal smash in Wilbraham Road, Chorlton, at about 12.30am today (Friday). The collision involved a car and a pedestrian, officers said.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the pedestrian - a 52-year-old man - was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been released on bail.
People living near to the scene said they heard a 'massive bang' around the time of the incident, which reportedly happened near to the junction with Morville Road.
Greater Manchester Police is appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have footage of the incident - including CCTV or dashcam - to get in touch.
