A man has tragically died after he was hit by a Mercedes along the M62 on Sunday night. Police were called to the motorway between junction 8 and 9 at around 9.30pm.
Officers found that a Mercedes X350 had collided with a male pedestrian along the stretch of motorway near Warrington. Sadly, the 51-year-old man, who was local to the area, was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation has been launched by Cheshire Police following the tragedy. No arrests have been made at this stage.

The motorway was closed in both directions between junctions 8 and 9 on Sunday night (19 March) and into the early hours of Monday morning. North West emergency services attended the scene.
In an alert at 4am, National Highways: North-West announced: "The #M62 in #Cheshire between J8 and J9 is now fully open in both directions. Thanks for being patient."
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "At around 9.30pm on Sunday 19 March, police were called to reports of a collision on the M62 between junction 8 and junction 9.
"Officers attended and found that a grey Mercedes X350 had collided with a pedestrian. Sadly, the pedestrian, 51-year-old man from Warrington, was pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries in relation to the incident are underway."
