Gardai are at the scene of a shooting incident near Tallaght in south Dublin.
One man is reported to be injured and in a critical condition.
It's understood to have happened in a rural area south of Tallaght.
Large numbers of gardai and emergency services are currently at the scene.
In a statement, gardai told the Irish Mirror: "Gardai and emergency services are currently at the scene of a firearms incident which occurred at approximately 1pm this afternoon, Tuesday, February 22, 2022 in the Tallaght area of Dublin.
"No further information is available at this time. Updates to follow."
