Police have announced three people were arrested yesterday in Birmingham after Leeds United lost their match against Aston Villa.
West Midlands Police said three men in their 30s were arrested on suspicion of assault on the evening of Friday, January 13. A 63-year-old man had to be taken to hospital after he was hit by a thrown traffic cone and injured.
His injuries are not currently thought to be serious. The three men remain in custody.

Police closed the Station Road outside Villa Park stadium after the Leeds vs Aston Villa match, around 11pm. It was cordoned off while officers investigated the incident.
Yesterday's match saw Leeds lose to Aston Villa 2-1. A witness who saw the emergency response told BirminghamLive: "I was working at the Villa match and there were flashing lights everywhere. There was an ambulance on site, two riot vans and several police cars."
"Officers were stationed between the police tape which was just a small square halfway down Station Road. It looked a bit bizarre," they added.
"I'm not sure what happened - whether Villa or Leeds fans were involved or if it was an incident totally unrelated to football."
