A man is in a "serious condition" in hospital after being hit by a lorry in Wirral.
Emergency services received a number of calls at 2.15pm on Wednesday, November 9, reporting a man had been hit by a HGV on New Chester Road in Tranmere. Merseyside Police and the North West Ambulance Service scrambled to the scene, at the junction of Union Street, and found a man in his 60s seriously injured lying in the road.
An off duty paramedic was already at the scene and had started treating the man. A North West Air Ambulance landed at the scene a short time later.

The man was rushed to Aintree University Hospital with injured to his head, neck, back and limbs. His condition is described as serious.
Merseyside Police 's accident investigation team has arrived at the scene.
Police have closed a section of New Chester Road in both directions between Campbeltown Road and Union Street and traffic is struggling in the area. Vehicles are queuing on New Chester Road, the Rock Ferry By-Pass, St Paul's Road, Bedford Road, Union Street and Wirral Circular Trail.
A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm we are currently in attendance at a road traffic collision on New Chester Road, in Birkenhead, this afternoon, Wednesday 9th November. At around 2.15pm, we received a report of a collision involving a HGV vehicle and a pedestrian.
"The pedestrian has been taken to hospital with a serious head injury. The driver stopped at the scene and is helping police with their enquiries.
"Road closures are in place while emergency services attend the incident."
