A man was taken to hospital after an alleged New Year's Day assault in Dublin.
The victim, aged in his late 30s, was found injured on Aston Quay shortly before 1 pm on Sunday, January 1. He was taken to hospital by ambulance where his condition is understood to be serious.
The scene of the incident has been preserved for examination by investigating officers. A garda spokeswoman said no arrested have been made to date and enquiries are ongoing.
