Man in hospital after stabbing in New Cross

A man has been rushed to hospital after he was stabbed in southeast London.

Metropolitan Police were called to Liardet Street in New Cross at 2.40pm after reports of a stabbing.

Officers found a man with stab wounds and he was taken to hospital where he remains, the Met said in an update on Friday evening.

The man's injuries have been assessed as non-life threatening or life changing.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

Photos show a police cordon in place while forensic and police staff were still at the scene on Friday evening.

It is understood officers were also scouring CCTV of a nearby Premier shop.
