A man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after an early evening break-in.
Merseyside Police confirmed that it received a report that four men had broken into a house on Montgomery Road in Huyton and threatened a man inside at 5.30pm on Wednesday, March 1. One of three suspects was rushed to hospital with a serious head injury following an altercation in the house.
Two men, aged 19 and 23, from Whiston and Huyton, were later arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary. Another man, aged 40, from Huyton, was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault.

The two men aged 19 and 40 have since been released on bail while the 23-year-old remains in hospital in a stable condition. A cordon was in place on Montgomery Road after the incident but has since been removed by officers.
Detective Sergeant Carla Cross said: "Although we have made three arrests our investigation is still in the very early stages as we seek to establish what took place on Montgomery Road on Wednesday evening.
"We are carrying out a number of lines of enquiry and are speaking to residents living in the local area to find anyone who may have been involved in this violent incident.
"I would ask anyone who was on Montgomery Road at around 5.40pm on Wednesday who saw or heard anything suspicious or thinks they may have captured something significant on their dashcam or Ring doorbell to get in touch with us as a matter of urgency."
