A man has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car outside a primary school in Swansea. The collision happened in Llwyn Mawr Road in Sketty on Saturday night.

The collision, which happened at around 9.10pm on Saturday, involved a blue Mercedes and one pedestrian - a 68-year-old man. He was treated at the scene by paramedics and the air ambulance crew, before being taken to a hospital in Cardiff for further treatment.

Llwyn Mawr Road was closed for more than two hours as a result of the incident, re-opening at around 11.30pm. South Wales Police said the circumstances surrounding the collision were now under investigation.
A spokeswoman for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: “We were called yesterday (October 1) shortly after 9pm to reports of a road traffic collision involving one vehicle and a pedestrian near Sketty Primary School, Swansea. We sent one rapid response vehicle, one emergency ambulance and a duty operations manager to the scene, where we were supported by the Wales Air Ambulance. One person was taken by road to University Hospital Wales, Cardiff for further treatment.”
