Man in his 60s dies with COVID in ACT

A man in his 60s has died with coronavirus in the ACT, as the capital records another 775 new cases.

It is the third day of COVID numbers below 800, after several days of numbers over 1000, including 1200 recorded on Friday.

ACT Health has advised there were 62 people with COVID-19 in Canberra hospitals in the 24 hours to 8pm on Sunday.

Patients in hospital with coronavirus included two people in intensive care and two people requiring ventilation.

There were 6050 active cases in the territory at the last reporting period.

ACT Health refused to reveal the vaccination status of the man who died.

"ACT Health is only able to provide information about vaccination or health status of individuals who are potentially identifiable either with consent or where the record holder believes on reasonable grounds that the disclosure is necessary to prevent or lessen a serious and imminent risk to the life or health of the individual or someone else," an ACT Health spokesman said.

"In this case, neither of these criteria are met."
