A woman has been killed and another 22-year-old woman seriously injured following a shooting in suburban Adelaide.
A 51-year-old man surrendered to police and was taken into custody shortly after 5pm on Saturday following a tense stand-off that lasted several hours in the eastern suburb of Campbelltown.
Police say the adult women are related to the man.
The suburban neighbourhood was locked down shortly after 1.30pm as heavily armed tactical officers were deployed to contain the incident.
Police responded to reports of gunshots and two women seen collapsed on the driveway of a home.
"When patrols arrived, they found a woman deceased at the scene and another 22-year-old woman with serious injuries," police said in a statement.
"The injured woman was safely extracted and rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where she remains in a stable condition."
Hill Street, Victor Road, Elm Road and surrounding streets were completely blocked off during the siege and the public was told to avoid the area.
