Man in critical condition after three people assaulted in Bristol city centre

Police are appealing for witnesses after three men were assaulted in Bristol city centre around 5.45am yesterday. (Saturday 29 October) The incidents took place near to the fountains and the junctions of Corn Street, Baldwin Street and Broad Quay.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: "The victims, aged in their 20s and 30s, were not known to each other but were assaulted by three men. One of the victims sustained serious head injuries and is currently in hospital. His condition is described as critical, but stable.

"The other two were less seriously injured. One of them required hospital treatment but has since been released."

CCTV enquiries are underway to try to identify those responsible. The offenders, all believed to be in their late-20s or early-30s, are described as:

Male 1 – white, about 6ft 2-3ins, with short brown hair and of a large build. He was clean shaven and wearing a dark blue top and dark skinny jeans.

Male 2 – mixed race, about 5ft 10ins, slightly curly hair and clean shaven. He was said to be wearing a white North Face waterproof jacket.

Male 3 – white with dark hair. He was wearing a black coat and had some facial injuries.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident or who may have footage of this incident to come forward. If you can help, call 101 and give reference number 5222260251.
