Offering to supply a psychoactive substance to a prison inmate cost a man a suspended jail term. Joshua Toussaint, of Riverside Steps, St Annes Park, Bristol, pleaded guilty to the charge after police raided an address in June 2020 and found envelopes impregnated with Spice.
Judge James Patrick handed the 27-year-old ten months' jail, suspended for nine months. He told Toussaint: "Plainly, you were mired in drugs at the time.
"Spice was doing you no good at all and you tried to get rid of it for profit." Toussaint was ordered to pay £400 court costs.

Andy Pickett, prosecuting, told Bristol Crown Court police acting on intelligence about "drugs and firearms" visited an address in West Street. While evidence of drugs was in the property there were no guns, the court heard.
Mr Pickett said a search of Toussaint's room revealed three brown envelopes impregnated with Spice. There was evidence of a deal to sell Spice to a prison inmate, Mr Pickett told the court, and Toussaint was arrested.
The court heard he had ten previous convictions for 20 offences. These included possessing cannabis and possessing cocaine with intent to supply.
Toussaint was unrepresented. The prosecutor put the offence in the lesser role category and the judge said the custody threshold was passed but he was able to suspend sentence.
