Two men have been arrested for allegedly attacking a man waiting at a taxi rank in Johnstone on Saturday night.
The incident is said to have happened around 12.30am in High Street in the town and it is alleged that a 28-year-old man was attacked by a 22-year-old and a 24-year-old man following an altercation.
Police say the younger men approached the 28-year-old and punched and kicked him, striking him on the head and body, causing him to fall to the ground.

Police attended the incident and found he had cuts and bruising on his head.
The 28-year-old was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley to be treated for his injuries. He was later released but has sustained permanent damage.
After checking CCTV footage in the area, police traced the suspects and arrested them. They were held in custody and were due to appear in court yesterday.
