Police are appealing for information after a man was "assaulted with a hammer" in Belfast. The incident occurred at the Lord Street area of East Belfast on Friday, July 1 shortly before 12pm.
It was reported that a man in his 30s was assaulted by two men at the road's junction with the Beersbridge Road.
He was taken to hospital for injuries to his head and jaw following the incident. A man has been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences.

Detective Sergeant McCartan said: “Shortly before 12pm, it was reported that a man in his 30s was assaulted by two men at the junction with the Beersbridge Road with a hammer. He was taken to hospital for injuries to his head and jaw following the incident.
“A 29 year old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence and other offences. He is currently in police custody at this time.
“Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone with any information in relation to this matter to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 674 01/07/22. You can also submit a report online using our non-emergency reporting form via www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.
"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
