Emergency services are currently in attendance after a man was knocked down outside a Lanarkshire school.
Police and two ambulance vehicles were spotted at the scene shortly after 9am this morning near to Hamilton College.
Locals are being advised to avoid the area after Bothwell Road was closed.
It's understood the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, and his condition is not yet known.
A Police Scotland spokesperson told Lanarkshire Live: "Around 8.55am on Tuesday, 1 February, we were called to a report of a man struck by a vehicle in Bothwell Road, Hamilton.
"Officers are at the scene and the road is closed."
Motorists were told Bothwell Road was closed this morning while police dealt with the incident.
South Lanarkshire Roads team posted: "Bothwell Road in Hamilton is closed due to a police incident near to Hamiton College."
Drivers have not been able to access the area from the Raith Interchange.
Local MSP Monica Lennon also urged residents to choose an alternative route.
She said: "Bothwell Road, Hamilton is closed due to a Police Incident near to Hamiton College.
"Please avoid the area until further notice."
