Man held over Donald Trump's Turnberry golf course Gaza protest released

A MAN who was arrested in connection with vandalism at Trump Turnberry has been released pending further enquiries.

The golf resort in South Ayrshire was targeted by protesters in the early hours of the morning of Saturday, March 8, as they dug up the greens and painted over the clubhouse.

The words “Gaza is not for sale” were also painted across the lawn.

The 33-year-old, who was arrested on Wednesday under suspicion of damaging the course and premises at Trump Turnberry in Maidens, South Ayrshire, has been released while an investigation takes place.

The incident was reported to police at around 4.40pm on Saturday.

Activists said they targeted Trump’s golf course over the US administration’s plan “to ethnically cleanse Gaza”.

The golf resort is operated by The Trump Organisation, which the US President owns.
