A spooky catalogue of events has been released by Police Scotland, detailing the paranormal incidents they've received calls for over the past few years. Since 2019, officers have received nearly 40 calls involving ' paranormal activity', according to a report released this year.
In response to a Freedom of Information (FOI) request, officers confirmed they'd taken calls on incidents including a haunting by a 'ghost child', 'paranormal lights', and even a 'paranormal attack'.
The FOI request, which was submitted in March of this year, asked for a "summary of calls to police where the logs include the word 'paranormal activity' from January 2019 to date".
The person who submitted the request then asked for the information to be "broken down on a month-by-month basis with a brief summary of the incident".
Responding to the request, officers confirmed there was no "specific category which relates to the type of incident referred to" but added that 38 incidents in total were recorded that involved the keywords "Paranormal" and "Paranormal Activity".

Though the majority of these were considered to be false calls, some intriguing entries included an incident in Edinburgh in June 2020, with noises heard in a house "which may be Paranormal"; "black creatures coming out of wall" at a residence in Glasgow; and a male experiencing a "paranormal attack" in Lanark.
One other particularly spooky call logged refers to a haunting by the "ghost of child" taking place in the Highlands in March 2021.
Other calls from Dumfries and Galloway in August 2020, Ayrshire in November 2020 and in the Lothians in 2021, all detailed people experiencing what they believed was "paranormal activity".
However, it seems many of the calls related to the popularity of Paranormal Activity Groups from around the country, with incidents involving them breaking covid lockdown rules in 2020, entering areas they aren't supposed to or disturbing graves as part of events.
