One of the eight 'wives' of a Brazilian man has confessed the group's relationship is a life of "a thousand wonders".
Arthur O Urso from Joao Pessoa, Brazil, was slammed earlier this year after his 'polygamist ' lifestyle went viral across the world.
The model infuriated angry conservatives who smeared his house with the message "Family of the Devil, you are not welcome. Go away!" in June.
The nine - originally 10 before one woman left in April - claimed they were married in a Catholic church in November last year, despite polygamy being illegal in Brazil.
And now two of Arthur's wives have revealed more about the nonet's unorthodox relationship, describing it as "insane" at first.
Arthur's first wife of seven years, Luana, told local media: "We were curious about experiencing an open relationship.
"I thought it was very different and I accepted it straight away."
The couple met their future wives at parties, Luana said.
She told local media: "We sought people from that world, who wanted to experience new things."
On the infamous graffiti incident, she said: "We're used to prejudice, but that was the first time it went really far.
"I was scared because it had never happened before, it was only on social media that people judged us."
Lorena, another of Arthur's wives, spoke of the practicalities of a relationship with so many involved.
She said: "Right at the beginning it was insane, as no one was used to living together.
"With so many personalities, there were lots of little fights, especially when I had PMS, I ended up wanting more attention."
But, said Lorena, the situation quickly improved.
She said: "Today it's much better. We have a super good relationship. Today is a thousand wonders."
Lorena also revealed that she and Arthur's other wives divide the household chores evenly between them.
She said: "Each one of us is responsible for each thing, we divide it between us and it always works out."
