A man was fined for driving around a busy park on a quad bike.
Lee Hives, from Norris Green, has been forced to pay £735 after he was caught driving the quad bike in Everton Park in August this year. Hives was caught on security cameras wearing shorts, a t-shirt and sunglasses.
Liverpool City Council said Hives was sent to Magistrates' Court and was fined hundreds of pounds. According to Merseyside Police, although quad bikes, three-wheeled bikes, trail bikes and some other two-wheeled vehicles are built for off-road use, it is against the law to ride them in public parks or publicly owned land without permission from the local authority.

Police also add that as with unlicensed powered vehicles, these can only be used on private roads or land with the road or land-owner’s permission.
A spokesperson for Liverpool City Council said: "Quad bikes may look cool. But driving them in a public park is most certainly not. Ask Lee Hives of Norris Green.
"He's been fined £735 at Liverpool Magistrates Court for driving one in a busy Everton Park in August. This is unlawful under our Parks and Open Spaces byelaws."
