Man goes viral after explaining that we are all cooking pasta wrong - but not for the reason you'd think

Some would argue the hardest thing when it comes to cooking pasta is knowing how much of it to put on. After that, it’s pretty simple to cook, right?

Perhaps not, as apparently everyone has been cooking pasta the wrong way.

One man on TikTok has said the way he gets “perfectly boiled pasta” is using a strainer.

The video has gone viral, with a whopping 1.3m views, however, it’s probably not gone viral for being an amazing cooking hack.

Viewers were horrified at how user cooked his pasta, with some saying “the police will be arriving shortly.”

The American begins by snapping the pasta in half, a move many have branded as “a red flag.”

People were not happy and the comment section flooded with replies saying “never break your pasta…”

User andistoney commented “Chef here. This is wrong on so many levels”, while another said “I will never listen to anyone that breaks their pasta.”

However, this was not the most horrifying thing about this viral video.

The TikToker went on to put the broken pasta in a strainer and boil it in a pot of water. Once he was finished, he plated up his snapped spaghetti, proceeding to squirt BBQ sauce all over it.

Needless to say, the viewers had something to say about it.

“BBQed broken pasta… who called the cops already,” one user wrote.

Another said “Ummm did he really just put BBQ sauce on pasta?”

“I am not Italian, but yet I am crying,” another commented while one viewer said “I can’t tell if this is a joke or not..who breaks pasta…and who puts bbq sauce on it.”

Another admitted their “entire body tensed up” when the TikTok chef whipped out the BBQ sauce bottle.

“Breaking the pasta is the worst thing you can do. *Brings out BBQ sauce* All of a sudden the break is forgotten,” said another viewer.

While many tried to decide whether or not the creator of the video was deadly serious with is pasta hack or just having a laugh, a quick scroll through his account shows hundreds of other videos where ‘the_gooch’ shows other cooking hacks in unique and funny ways.

It also says that he was previously a clown in his bio - which might explain everything!
