People have been left gobsmacked after an artist claimed he found the face of Jesus in a chicken tikka masala. Jeff Jordyn was getting ready to enjoy a shop-bought curry, when he looked down and saw the son of God's likeness staring back at him. The striking image was formed on the side of his dish by a Christ-like sauce splat, with clearly-defined features.
But when the 52-year-old shared a snap of the "funny coincidence", many thought it also resembled other famous bearded blokes. Explaining his interpretation, Jeff, from New York, US, said: "When I saw it it reminded me of a Pablo Picasso painting, I thought it was amusing.
"When I put my fork down it moved a little bit of sauce around the eyes. I didn't think anything of it but that actually turned it into Jesus.
"You can see eyes, beard, long flowing locks - it's like the depiction of Jesus in a lot of paintings.
"I'm of the Jewish faith. I have a relationship with Jesus - probably better than most Christians actually. I just thought it was a funny coincidence."
"This is the only time I've had someone appear in my food. I'm not real big on divine intervention," he added.
Since sharing the religious doppelganger online, Jeff's post has been flooded with people agreeing on the likeness - but also suggesting the face looks like Jim Morrison, Jason Momoa and even American cult leader Charles Manson.
Jeff shared the picture on Facebook with the caption: "I found Jesus in my chicken tikka masala". The post went viral racking up almost 6,000 likes, shares and comments.
One person wrote: "Saw Jesus before even reading your post." Another commented: "That's Charles Manson."
And someone else said: "The first face that popped into my mind is Jim Morrison of The Doors." But another commented: "I see Jason Momoa."
