Man found dead in the street as woman stabbed multiple times inside house
A man was found stabbed to death on a street in Old Swan after screams were heard by neighbours.
A short time later, a woman was also found with multiple stab wounds inside as house on Rock Grove shortly before 9pm on Monday.
Emergency services were called to the scene where they attempted to save the man who reportedly suffered "significant injuries". The woman was then rushed to hospital for treatment.

Cordons were put in place by armed police and officers are now investigating at the scene. Forensic officers were seen coming and going from a property nearby shortly after the stabbing.
People in the area shortly after the man's body was found said they could hear screaming. Shortly after an ambulance was seen leaving the area escorted by police.
In a statement to the ECHO, Merseyside Police have confirmed that a murder investigation has been launched. A spokesperson also said officers are 'keeping an open mind' surrounding the investigation.

Child rapist thanks judge after sentencing before taunting his victims
A child rapist taunted his victims as he was led to the cells after being locked up for his evil crimes.
Jason Clarke thanked Judge Clement Goldstone, QC, for his massive jail sentence and said 'bye' to the public gallery as he left the dock. His behaviour was slammed by the judge as “truly despicable”.
Clarke was sentenced to 24 years in jail after jurors saw through his web of lies and convicted him of two dozen horrific sex offences. Liverpool Crown Court heard the 48-year-old had subjected his three victims to abuse during a pattern of offending that lasted several years.

He was found guilty of several counts of rape and told he had stolen their childhood. Their bravery in coming forward years after his crimes had led to the Merseyside Police investigation that ended with him being sentenced on Monday.
After Judge Goldstone handed Clarke his sentence, the sex offender threw his head and shoulders back and said: “Thank you very much.” As he walked out of the dock he looked at those he had tormented before telling one person in the public gallery “bye”.

What sale of the Royal Liver Building means for Everton
The decision to put the Royal Liver Building up for sale was taken last November and is not expected to result in Everton leaving the iconic city centre landmark.
Global real estate adviser, CBRE, has been appointed to sell the property for only the second time in its history with a price of £90million quoted.
Everton, like all the other tenants, have tenancy agreements which are set to continue.

CBRE sold the building for the first time in 2017 on behalf of Royal London, and is now marketing it again on behalf of current owners, Corestate Capital who purchased it collectively for £48million and are set to make a tidy profit following an extensive refurbishment programme in recent years.
The Grade I listed Royal Liver Building is multi-let to several major Liverpool based companies including Everton Football Club, Princes Foods, HSBC, Mott MacDonald and Grant Thornton.
Corestate are a multinational real estate corporation based in Germany but the Royal Liver Building is their only property in the UK and having blue chip clients such as Everton on site helps to attract other major firms.
