Homicide detectives are investigating a suspected murder in Perth's northern suburbs after a man was found dead and another two people were taken to hospital.
Police were called to a home on Royal Street in Tuart Hill just after 10am on Tuesday, where they found a man aged in his 60s with serious injuries.
Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Jarrod Manson said police arrested a 23-year-old man at the scene, who was assisting them with their inquiries.
Police then discovered a man aged in his 50s dead at an address in nearby Lena Street.
A man aged in his 40s, who police believe was also injured at the Lena Street address, was taken to a doctor by a witness.
Both injured men were taken to the Royal Perth Hospital, with the man in his 60s in a critical condition while the man aged in his 40s is stable.
Police say the arrested man was known to the two men hurt at the Lena Street home.
"We believe an incident happened on Lena Street and then it's finished off on Royal Street," he said.
Acting Senior Sergeant Manson said police would remain in the area for at least two days while the investigation continues.
"We don't believe the community is at risk," he said.
He said detectives were not looking for any weapons.
Police have urged anyone with information on the incident, or who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area at the time, to contact Crime Stoppers.
'This is full crazy': neighbour
One neighbour, Alana, who lives on a nearby street around 100 metres from where the incident happened, said she heard the commotion as emergency services made their way to the address.
"There's a few of us that just moved onto the street, and we thought 'this is just a beautiful place, it's so lovely'," she said.
"This is so out of the normal for this area. Our kids go to school around the corner, ride our bikes.
"This is full crazy, not what we're used to. Pretty scary."
