Man found dead on Penarth beach

A man has been found dead on a beach in the Vale of Glamorgan. Emergency services were alerted to the incident at around 1.45pm on Monday, March 21 on Penarth beach.

HM Coastguard, the RNLI, South Wales Police, Welsh Ambulance Service and HART paramedic teams all responded to the incident. The man was found to be dead on arrival and police do not believe the incident to be suspicious. The next of kin have been informed and police are continuing their enquiries.

A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: "South Wales Police can confirm that the body of a man was found on Penarth beach shortly before 1.45pm yesterday. There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances at this stage, next of kin have been informed and enquiries are ongoing."

A spokesperson for Penarth RNLI added: "Our crew were paged at around 14:00 this afternoon and tasked to an incident on Penarth Beach which was attended by HM Coastguard, South Wales Police, Welsh Ambulance Service and HART paramedic teams. The lifeboat crew were stood down and the incident was resolved by the other emergency services."
