Man found dead on 'bloodbath' street named locally as second person arrested in connection with death

A man who was found dead in Renfrew has been named locally as Sean Dock, from Paisley.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Tennant Street in Renfrew where 35 year-old Sean was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident happened at around 4.20pm on May 13 and a 34 year-old man has been charged and a 33 year-old woman arrested in connection with his death.

Pictures taken at the scene show bloody handprints smeared on the window of a ground-floor flat, as locals heard "screams for help".

Blood stains were also seen on the side of the building and on the pavement. Police have been pictured guarding the scene, with evidence markers lining the street as investigations were carried out, reports the Record.

Officers say activity on Campbell Street is linked to the Tennant Street incident as they taped off a door at a property nearby.

Locals said they heard a man shouting for help prior to emergency services attending the scene.

One neighbour said: "We heard someone shouting for help but you hear that quite often, kids messing around and that. Then only a minute after that we heard all these sirens - so many sirens.

“The ambulances and the police arrived at a similar time and there were doctors in red overalls. I think there were three ambulances and some kind of incident response team, and about five or six police cars.

“It was quite quickly cordoned off, they wouldn’t let people through. It became apparent the ambulances weren’t going to go anywhere.

“Then about half an hour later the police ran up to Campbell Street and we could hear them knocking and shouting to let them in. It sounded like they were trying to bash down the door.

“Then some guys in suits showed up, clearly detectives. It was ongoing for so long - the cordon was up until Sunday.”

Another added: "The first I heard of it was the loud sirens. Then I saw the blood on the window.

“The guys in the white suits, forensics, arrived after that, and they were putting down markers all the way down to Campbell Street."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of an injured man on Tennant Street in Renfrew around 4.20pm on Saturday, May 13, 2023. Officers attended and a 35-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“A 34-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death. He is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday, May 15, 2023."
