A man has been found dead in a pond in an "unexplained death".
Lancashire Police were called to Half Mile Island in Skelmersdale at around 2.11pm on Friday, February 10. Once officers arrived at the scene, accompanied by Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and the ambulance service, they found the body of a man in a pond in Tawd Valley Park.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesperson from Lancashire Police said: "We were called to Tawd Valley Park, Skelmersdale, at 2.11pm today (February 10) to reports a body had been found in a pond. Emergency services have attended and sadly found the body of a man.
"His death is currently being treated as unexplained. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting 729 of February 10, 2023."
A cordon is currently in place around the park, covering some of the Half Mile Island roundabout.
A spokesperson from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: "At 14:34pm on 10 February 2023, two fire engines from Ormskirk and Skelmersdale attended a water rescue incident at the junction of Half Mile Island and Houghton Road.
"Firefighters were at the scene for approximately one hour and 20 minutes. This incident is Lancashire Police led."
