Man found dead in car in Prescot retail park

A man was found dead in a car in Prescot retail park.

Emergency services were called to Cables Retail Park, on Saturday, June 3, to reports a man had been found unconscious by a shopper. Police believed at first the man, in a white Kia Rio, had been having a medical episode.

Paramedics also attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers carried out investigations but confirmed his death is not believed to be suspicious.

A spokesperson for Merseyside police said: "We can confirm that emergency services were on Cables Retail Park in Prescot following an incident on Saturday 3 June.

"Just before 1.45pm, we were called to Cables Retails Park following reports a man had been found unconscious in a white Kia Rio by a member of the public, initially believed to have been a medical episode. He was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics and his next of kin have been informed.

"CCTV examinations and witness enquiries were carried out in the area at the time of the incident and there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances. A file has been passed to the coroner."
