An investigation has been launched after a man was discovered dead at his home just three days after Christmas.
The body of Robert Smith, 54, was found by his former wife at the property.
An inquest has now been opened and adjourned into Robert's death at the Newcastle-under-Lyme property. It will resume on April 19, as reported by Stoke-on-Trent Live.
Assistant coroner Mark Henley said: "Mr Smith was found dead at home by his ex-wife, who lived at a different address."
Staffordshire Police are not treating Robert's death as suspicious.

"At 6:50am, it was reported that a man had been found deceased at an address. Officers attended the scene alongside medical professionals where a man was identified. Life was confirmed extinct at 7.13am.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious."
West Midlands Ambulance Service was alerted at 6.56am on December 28 about the incident.
An ambulance service spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a medical emergency at a property on Chester Crescent. One ambulance attended the scene.
"On arrival we discovered one male patient. Sadly, it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene."
