A man has been issued a £400 fine for dumping a fridge in Everton Park.
Liverpool City Council revealed it managed to catch the culprit thanks to a tip-off from the public. Following the council being made aware of the fly-tipping, officers checked CCTV cameras monitoring the area and found the vehicle that had driven into the park to dump the item.
Thanks to the footage, the council managed to track down the man from L6 who dumped the fridge and issue him with a fixed penalty notice. Cabinet member for Neighbourhoods and Communities, Abdul Qadir, said the council has zero tolerance for fly-tipping.

He told the ECHO: "We have a zero-tolerance policy on fly-tipping and penalise those who are liable once they have been identified. Once we have identified those and can prove they were the ones that were guilty of fly-tipping we will seek to prosecute where possible.
"Clearing any fly-tipping is a burden on council finances and we urge anyone who sees fly-tipping to report it to the council as it is their money that is being spent on clearing the waste."
Following the council identifying the person who dumped the fridge, staff also noticed more waste had been fly tipped nearby and thanks to CCTV, managed to identify the vehicle involved. Liverpool Safer Parks Team tweeted: "Today a male from L6 was issued a £400 fixed penalty notice for fly-tipping in Everton Park. We will continue to target those responsible for committing crimes in our parks."
