A man from Ontario, Canada has gone viral after sharing images of two sinister-looking ice figures outside of his home, both of which bear a striking resemblance to the Grim Reaper.
Ben Tucci, 65, was surprised by the ominous formations which had appeared outside his Lake Erie lakehouse in the town of Dunnville and shared a series of striking photographs on Facebook.
Ben's Facebook friends couldn't help but shudder at the sight of the tall, humanoid figures, clad in what appears at first glance to be floor-length white cloaks. The chilling vision, described as "the stuff of nightmares" by one follower, brings to mind the personified figure of death himself: the Grim Reaper.

Ben said: "My initial reaction was one of awe. I couldn't believe my eyes. On the first formation, I thought this is Jack Frost, Old Man Winter, Father Christmas, or perhaps even the Grim Reaper. My immediate reaction to the "dejected" looking figure was of an eerie looking woman or a sea hag of sorts, leaving the property almost as if to be walking away from Jack Frost".
He believes that the spectral figures do have an everyday sort of explanation. Water from the lake’s waves has recently landed on his next-door neighbour’s lamp post, thus creating the two menacing 'visitors' Ben has since nicknamed Jack Frost and Grim Reaper.
However, in a further unsettling twist to the tale, after Ben showed his daughter the photographs, she recognised the looming figures as being “spirits” that she believes have been visiting her in her dreams.
Ben continued: “My youngest daughter had previously told us that she would have nightmares when sleeping in her lakeside bedroom in the old cottage – such that she'd sleep on the couch at times. When I showed her the pics of the ice formations she was stunned. She told me that the dejected-looking figure with head bowed was the image she had been tormented by in her dreams".
Interestingly, Ben's daughter hasn't experienced such nighttime visitations at their new home, which he views as being "almost like the old cottage was inhabited by a spirit which departed after the demolition".
The photos have since been liked on Facebook more 1,900 times, clocking up hundreds of alarmed and fascinated comments. One person remarked, “If the Angel of Death looks like this when he/she comes to get me, I’d be running on water away from it", while another shivered, "I’m just saying that if I lived near there, I wouldn’t be sleeping for the rest of the winter".
