A man is fighting for his life in hospital after being found seriously injured in a Renfrewshire close.
The 65-year-old was found within the close of a property on High Street, Johnstone at around 10.30pm last night.
The man was rushed by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with life-threatening injuries.
The nature of the incident or how the man came to be injured is not yet known.
Police have confirmed that enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the happening.
They are urging anyone who may have helped the man or seen what happened to get in touch.
Detective Inspector Robert Bowie, of Paisley CID, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing into the incident and how this man came to be injured.
“I would urge anyone who may have assisted the man or witnessed what happened to come forward.
“Anyone with information should call police via 101, quoting incident 3711 of 3 April, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
