Man fighting for life as another arrested in connection with Scots street 'assault'

A man is fighting for his life in hospital after allegedly being attacked in a Scots street this afternoon.

Police raced to Atholl Street in Dundee at around 1.40pm on Wednesday April 6 following reports of an assault.

The 54-year-old man was rushed to Ninewells Hospital.

He is currently in a critical condition.

A 44-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with the incident.

Officers say enquiries into the attack are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.40pm on Wednesday, 6 April, police were called to Atholl Street in Dundee, following a report of a 54-year-old man being assaulted.

"A 44-year-old man has been arrested and enquiries remain ongoing.”
