A teenager accused of the murder of a 43-year-old man in Brisbane's inner north over the weekend has been remanded in custody.
The victim has been identified as David George Connolly.
His body was found by a member of the public about 2am yesterday near Wilston train station.
The 17-year-old boy, who was charged by police yesterday, did not appear in the Childrens Court this morning.
During a brief mention, a magistrate ordered a full brief of evidence to be provided in six weeks.
The matter will return to court in March.
Police allege the boy was running along Newmarket Road near the crime scene when he was intercepted two hours before the discovery of the 43-year-old man's body.
Officers allege he was concealing a knife close to 45 centimetres long in a sheath, which they described as "almost a small machete".
Police allege that while he was being questioned, a 17-year-old girl made herself known to police.
It is alleged she assaulted a male police officer on the scene.
She has been charged with one count of assaulting police.
Police are urging any witnesses or people with dashcam footage from the area between 11pm on Saturday and 2am on Sunday to come forward.
On Monday morning, police were still at the scene, with SES volunteers searching the ground for evidence.
