A 51-year-old man will face court charged with murder and attempted murder after a siege in suburban Adelaide.

A woman, 51, was killed and another woman, 22, was seriously wounded after both were shot at a home in Campbelltown northeast of the city on Saturday afternoon.

South Australian Police said the man and women were all known to each other.

The neighbourhood was locked down shortly after 1.30pm as heavily armed tactical officers were deployed after reports of an armed man inside the home.

After lengthy negotiations, the man was arrested and later charged with murder and attempted murder after the women were found collapsed in the driveway of the home.

There was no application for bail and he will face the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.

The injured woman was in stable condition in Royal Adelaide Hospital on Sunday.
