Man due in court over alleged murder bid in Paisley

A man has been charged in connection with an alleged murder bid in Paisley.

The 30-year-old is set to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court tomorrow following an alleged incident in the town’s George Street on Saturday night.

A 15-year-old boy is alleged to have been struck by a car around 7.40pm while riding his bike.

He is said to have sustained a minor injury which did not require medical treatment.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.40 pm on Saturday, 16 April, 2022, a 15-year-old boy sustained a minor injury after allegedly being struck by a car whilst he was riding his bike on George Street, Paisley.

“He did not require medical treatment.

“A 30-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

“He is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 19 April, 2022. A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
